They believe in Allah and the last day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong and they COMPETE with one another in hastening to good deeds, and those are among the good. [AlImran 3:114]

1) Tahajjud
  • 40 Points.
  • Minimum 2 Rakah.
  • Sisters who can't pray can substitute (see below).
  • Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' (Bukhari)
  • Messenger of Allah said: "You should pray qiyaam al-layl, for it is the custom of the righteous who came before you and it brings you closer to your Lord, and expiates sins and prevents misdeeds." (Tirmidhi-Hasan)
2) Fajr Sunnah Bonus
  • 10 Points.
  • Must be offered before Fard prayer. Khada not counted.
  • Sisters who can't pray can substitute (see below).
  • Prophet said: "The two rakah of the fajr are better than this world and all it contains." (Sahih Muslim)
3) Fajr Jama'ah
  • 15 Points.
  • Must pray at the Masjid/Musalla.
  • Sisters are excused from this but they have to substitute (see below).
  • Brothers, who are 20 minutes driving distance away from the Masjid/Musalla are excused. They too need to substitute (see below).
  • `Uthman bin `Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying: "One who performs `Isha' prayer in congregation, is as if he has performed Salat for half of the night. And one who performs the Fajr prayer in congregation, is as if he has performed Salat the whole night.'' (Muslim)
4) Sunnah Count
  • 12 Points.
  • 1 Point for each Rakah. Partial credit is also given.
  • Khada not counted. Sunnah prayers before fard prayer if offered after fard, then no credit given.
  • Sisters who can't pray can substitute (see below).
  • Umm Habibah bint Abu Sufyan reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever prays twelve rak'at during the day and night will have a house built for him in paradise: four rakah before Dohr and two after it, two rakah after maghrib, two rakah after 'isha, and two rakah before fajr." (Tirmidhi)
5) Witr Count
  • 3 Points.
  • 1 Rakah credit is 1 Point only.
  • Khada not counted. Must be offered before the start of Fajr time.
  • Sisters who can't pray can substitute (see below).
  • `Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah is Witr (single, odd) and loves what is Witr. So perform Witr prayer. O followers of Qur'an, observe Witr (prayer).'' (Tirmidhi)
6) Sleep with Wudhu
  • 5 Points.
  • Before you sleep, you should make wudhu (if you don't have one).
  • Doesn't matter if it is broken on bed.
  • "If person sleeps on a Taahir bed in the state of having performed Wudhoo gets the reward of having done worship for the whole night" (ToDo: Find source)
7) Night Dhikr
  • 5 Points.
  • Dhikr to be made on bed before you sleep.
  • 33 times SubhanAllah, 33 times Alhamdulillah, 34 times AllahuAkbar
  • It is reported on the authority of Ali that Fatima had corns in her hand because of working at the hand-mill. There had fallen to the lot of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) some prisoners of war. She (Fatima) came to the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) but she did not find him (in the house). She met A'isha and informed her (about her hardship). When Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) came, she ( A'isha) informed him about the visit of Fatima. ABah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came to them (Fitima and her family). They had gone to their beds. 'Ali further (reported): We tried to stand up (as a mark of respect) but Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Keep to your beds, and he sat amongst us and I felt coldness of his feet upon my chest. He then said: May I not direct you to something better than what you have asked for? When you go to your bed, you should recite Takbir (AllahuAkbar) thirty-four times and Tasbih (Subhan Allah) thirty-three times and Tahmid (al-Hamdu lillah) thirty-three times, and that is better than the servant for you. 8) Weekly Special
  • 10 Points each.
Surah Kahf
  • Thurday evening or Friday morning only.
  • Recite entire Surah Kahf.
  • Must be recited after Thursday's Maghrib and before Friday's Jumah prayer.
  • If recited on Thursday evening, credit is given for the Friday's recitation.
  • Discontinious recitation is ok.
  • Sisters who can't recite can substitute (see below).
  • It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’ ” (al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/298)
  • Whoever memorized the first ten ayahs of Surah Kahf will be saved from Dajjal. (Sahih Muslim)
Tafseer
  • Saturdays only
  • Read any Tafseer of Quran.
  • Atleast 5 verses required. No partial credit.
  • Do they not then think deeply in the Quran, or are their hearts locked up (from understanding it)? [Muhammad 47:24]
Salat Dhuha/Ishraq
  • Sundays only.
  • Must be offered after sun rise and before Dohr time.
  • Minmum 2 Rakahs.
  • Sisters who can't pray can substitute (see below).
  • It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: My dear friend [the Prophet] (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined three things upon me which I will not give up whether I am travelling or not: two rak’ahs of Duha prayer, fasting three days of each month and not going to sleep until I have prayed Witr.” (Abi Dawood)

Fast(Sawm)

  • Mondays and Thursdays only.
  • Sahr(predawn meal) is not a requirement.
  • If it is Ramadhan and if you kept your fast, you automatically qualify for points. (No need of substitute)
  • Sisters who can't fast can substitute (see below).
  • Abu Hurairah reported that the most the Prophet would fast would be Monday and Thursday. He was asked about that and he said: "The actions are presented on every Monday and Thursday. Allah forgives every Muslim or every believer, except for those who are boycotting each other. He says [about them]: 'Leave them.' " (Ahmad)

Count 10 Blessings
  • Tuesdays only.
  • Make a list of 10 blessings that Allah (Subhana waTaa'a) has blessed you with.
  • Important thing is that you must "think".
  • "And when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks, I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are ungrateful, verily! My Punishment is indeed severe." [Ibrahim 14:7]
Read Hadith
  • Wednesdays only.
  • Atleast 5 Hadith required. No partial credit.
  • From any Hadith book. (Riyadhus Saliheen, Sahih Bukhari etc)
Total: 100 Points/Day


Other Notes:
  • Valid Substitutes (for each substitution):
    1. Dhikr/Tazbeeh for 10 minutes
    2. Tafseer for 10 minutes
    3. Hadith for 10 minutes
  • Medical excuse is a valid excuse, therefore substitutes may be used.
  • Dhikr substitute for sisters doesn't have to be continuous. Any dhikr/Tazbeeh of Allah is fine.
  • Weekly Specials might change from time to time.
  • Strict deadline observance. You cannot carry over any Ibadah to nextday. Eg: Tafseer is to be done on saturdays only (unless its a substitute). Tafseer on sunday is not counted. Some Ibadah like Night Wudhu, Night Dhikr and Witr can cross the 11:59 PM deadline if you sleep late.
